For a duelist, the arms staying in shape is pretty important. He couldn't do anything if something happened to it, and he had to make sure the medical team knew it.

But what Isao said bugged him. What does he even know about what he was bringing to this? What could he even tell? Did he overestimate him, or...

Kou shook his head as he finally made his way out of the College. At least with Trena indisposed now by her mom, he can maybe get back to his apartment... unless people want to stop him to chat about what happened, of course.*

Oh god it's that nightmarish tall girl who beat you once and you never saw again and never interacted with.

*oh he didn't expect to see anyone, but he stops all the same.*

"Yeah. We dueled before my life got, ah..."

She waves a hand.

"Sorry, it's been weird for me lately. Guess it's always weird though...

Anyway, just came to... I dunno, it feels right to maybe say something. Did you just decide that it wasn't worth possibly straining your arm to get out of that grip?"

... Yeah, that's pretty much what happened.

Last thing I'd need is to be forced out of the running already because of that. If my arm can't be moved, I can't really duel, now can I. *he rubs his shoulder a bit. He can still feel where he got slammed into the pillar.*

"Ugh. Yeah. And then sis wasn't in any condition to step in if you got yourself something like that.

... You, uh. Hm."

She considers.

"Kachidoki... I dunno. It isn't up to him if you guys get another title shot, at least. Though, you two, uh. Could stand some more work as a team. Can't coast on whoever starts getting an overwhelming advantage like you have been."

I'll be honest. I wasn't expecting to be doing the title shot this soon. But we had enough wins in a row, and she seemed excited to do it.

... of course, I didn't expect what followed, either. *he lets out a breath* But yes, we need more work and communication. No one needs to tell me twice.

"... I'll be honest. I didn't expect that out of her either. Out here, you could've heard a pin drop." Pause. "You don't get to see things of beauty like that very often, so I'm going to savor it.

I got an idea on working with you two. I'll pitch it across some people and get back to you two, alright?"

You going to tell me this idea before pitching it...?

"Me and my pops or me and some other duelist in this league, versus you two.

Maybe teach you to not hold back in duels. And force some growth as a team, since you two haven't really faced anything too crazy until now."

*there it is. the insinuation that he was holding back in the duel.

Physically, maybe. But the duel itself?*

We can use more training as a team, yes.

"... are you seriously asking me that? It's... weird, but that little demon's my sister. And you seem like you're on the level and I like you.

Also, if she dumps you, I'm next in line."

Well, at least I can be rest assured there's a back-up plan in case I'm the one who's dumped. *he doesn't look too thrilled about that.*

... You like me, though? Dunno what I did to impress, but... fine, I'll take that explanation.

She laughs a little.

"It's called a joke, Tezaki. She's definitely not the kind of person who'll kick you off, just because Isao's being a special kind of ass."

A shrug.

"Think it was the duel, the feeling we could've gone farther if we hadn't been doing personal stuff... And you seem like a genuine, nice guy."

... I guess so. I'd like to think at least my invite wasn't for nothing. *he finally gives a bit of a smile, even though his mood is still pretty low.*

I do want to get farther, though. This is just... I guess a pretty awkward stumbling block to have.

"It's definitely not. Look, don't let me or Kachidoki get you down.

It's an awkward stumbling block, but have either of you been on a team before? You're both plenty strong by yourself. And, uh. I like both of you, but there's a bit of a personality disconnect there too."

I don't know about her, but I definitely have never been on a team before. This is a new territory for me, all things considered.

Though I still can't help but feel like it'd be easier if this was regular tag duels...

"She dueled with me, once, and it was a nightmare. We couldn't do anything and then she..."

Kiko stares off for a second, shakes her head.

"Yeah, this is definitely weird. I mean, it's at least new, but I don't know if I like it yet or not."

You saw the first duel of the tag finals, right?

"That was the one with Landrobe and Garum and then the weird pink haired girl and Euphie, wasn't it?"

Yeah, only it was more that one guy-- Landrobe, I think that's the one-- against both of those girls.

This way of doing tag duels encourages one person to try to take on both without real regard to their partner.

"Yeah. At least Trena had the good sense to tag out with you. ... eventually. But forgot that she should've set her field up for Isao at any time.

... We can work on it. Maybe next time she duels Zheng that... won't... happen."

Let's hope. I didn't even know what to do when they started going at each other. I was so distracted by what was happening, I didn't get a chance to take note of the Action Cards' locations.

Thankfully, Kachidoki's whole turn gave me enough time to notice anything. *that was definitely a jab at the crazy solitaire summoning that was happening*
