*So, as you may know, Kou has been working at DA now. This isn't too much of a secret, though he hasn't really given a reason for why he's doing this.

Well, you may find him acting upon one of these reasons, later in the night on the island or in the city [You Choose Which]-- perhaps you're someone who just doesn't follow the rules of curfew or you're late coming from things you had to do, but you'll find some guy following another, certain creepy shut-in dude.

If he's in the city, he's in his dumb incognito outfit, but if he's on the island, he isn't bothering with it. Stands out too much in that situation.*

Why are there so many of them, this is almost getting as bad as whatever family Shian's a part of.

At least Shian's family seems smart. They don't seem to have noticed you at least and are solely focused on Tarou as well.

They're good at stalking, moving only when Tarou's moved near out of sight.

And then takes off his top layer of clothes, putting his glasses down on top of them, folded up--

And then steps right into the river like he's walking down a flight of stairs.

You're pretty sure that Kou just exasperatedly muttered "not again..."*

There's some cursing in Russian. Wait. It... is that? She emerges a little from her hiding hole to stare at the river.

... openly stares, since Tarou's now underwater. You look and smell familiar.*

She ducks backwards now that your full attention's on her, hair standing on end. A crossbow bolt lodges itself into a tree in your general vague direction.

... it looks hand carved. ... does she think she's hunting a vampire or something?

*... okay I think I should sneak up and join you before you hurt someone.*

Just what are you doing.

She yelps, but doesn't fire since she recognizes your voice.

Hunting this god damn weirdo what are you doing?

I'm following him. What does it look like?

Yeah, okay, I guess that makes sense. ... does he drop into the river like that often?

More than I'd like. He doesn't come back around this spot for a while, so he must be coming up for air further down...

*shaking his head as he makes another check towards the water.*

But, really, you shouldn't be out here.

She pauses, then shakes her head.

"IF he needs to breath at all. I think he's a vampire."

Right, someone else mentioned thinking that too.

I don't think he's a vampire though.

"Then I spent ten minutes making this crossbow outta paper clips and rubber bands for nothing.

... Still don't think he breathes though."

Because if he doesn't, that's going to make me wonder what he's doing, staying down there in the water.

"Avoiding us? He might know he was being stalked.

... or weird rituals. Does he disappear into the same spots?"

Usually. The idea of him doing rituals or spell-casting isn't out there, honestly.

*Kou ducks down behind the trees, grabbing you from the back, Renat, to have you follow suit.

Tarou's surfaced from beneath the water, completely soaked. He takes a moment to shake his hair out like a dog.*

She ducks with you, about to have said something but thinking much better of it now, completely focused on this weirdo. Was he just... sitting there? Underwater?

... she also stares long enough to see if he takes in any air as he surfaces, because he's probably still a vampire.

*well, he's letting out a sighing sound, so that's... close...??

He looks around though, since he was about to take off his actual shirt to wring it out... but he decides to just grab his glasses and get them on, before gathering up his clothes.

... he might know someone's around.*

She's just gonna be completely still and silent and follow Kou's lead. Something tells her she DOESN'T want to get caught by him right now.

*you probably do not.

He turns to leave, going deeper into the woods for the time being.*

*... only finally relaxing after several seconds pass. Tarou's probably far away enough now to not notice him.*

That felt close...

She lets out a near silent sigh as he disappears.

"Holy shit, he usually doesn't exude that aura of... whatever the hell that was.

That was too close. Way, way too close.

... I think I'm a bit in over my head. Sorry if I messed up your... whatever."

No, that's fine. *we can probably talk at least at... not-whisper volume, just keep it low.*

I'm not surprised someone else managed to find that guy suspicious, anyway.
